After Wislawa Szymborska

Pens write about pens writers about writers
Paper is papered over
pulped to rebirth Roads

lead to other roads We are driven
to drive The sun illumines
lights and lamps Rain waters
a stream Salt is salted in the earth
Wind airs the air

We etch a stone with a stone Can we
hear someone listening know someone
knowing? Believe
someone believing?
